10 Songs, 39 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

A socially and politically precarious year for many Americans, 2017 is distilled into a poignant set of neon folk-rock tunes by David Ramirez. The heartbreaking, anthemic lyrics and erratic electric guitars of “Twins” squarely place We’re Not Going Anywhere among the year’s essential LPs. Lead single “Watching from a Distance” is a darkly majestic, country-tinged ballad.

Very impressive album!

I’ve been a big David Ramirez fan since just before Apologies came out and I must say, most artists don’t get better with age but David does. He maintains his unique sound throughout each album but none of them sound the same. I think it’s a rare quality to find in artist these days. More specifically, We’re Not Going Anywhere is a departure from the more gritty acoustic tracks but if you see him live (highly recommended), you’ll see he’s just saving them for the stage. The lyrics and music are simply the best yet and my favorite from this album is “Time” with “Good Heart” in second place. If you want to listen to something honest, personal and raw this album is the very thing you’re looking for.

Amazing

This man's voice is a weapon. And unmatched songwriting as well. Can't wait to see it live in December.
