Larry rocks

Watched Larry play in Oakland at the stadium. Shockingly rockin! This guy can still lay down the bass like the legend he is.

I was there!

Larry Graham decided to leave Sly and the Family Stone and their debut show was at a SNACK concert at Kesar Stadium in 1975 or 1976. Graham Central rocked the house that day, only to be followed by Sly and oh my what a show it was. Nobody does it like Mr. Larry Graham!!!

Graham Central Station was a showcase for the revolutionary pop-and-slap bass guitar of Larry Graham, an alumnus of Sly & the Family Stone largely responsible for originating the percussive groove which typified the progressive funk sound of the '70s. Born August 14, 1946 in Beaumont, Texas, Graham was raised in Oakland, California; by his teens he was adept not only on bass but also guitar, harmonica, and drums, and at the age of 15 began performing with the Dell Graham Trio, his mother's lounge...
