iTunes Editors’ Notes

Minutes to Midnight is the result of more than a year of studio time, dozens of songs put to tape, and an intense amount of expectation from an audience who had to wait four years. Frontman Chester Bennington went on record about the album, saying that the band ditched the nu-metal sound that was plastered all over its first two releases. In its place is a more direct punk and hip-hop influence with a touch of classic rock.

Customer Reviews

This is Linkin Park, get over it.

I will NEVER understand the hate for this album, it's fantastic. Every album by LP I love, but this and A Thousand Suns got so much hate.. WHY??
Wake - 5/5, awesome instrumental track.
Given Up - 4.5/5
Leave Out All the Rest - 4/5 Great song, not my favorite
Bleed It Out - 5/5
Shadow of the Day - 5/5
What I've Done - 4.5/5
Hands Held High - 5/5 (possibly my favorite song on this album)
No More Sorrow - 4.5/5
Valentine's Day - 4/5
In Between - 4.5/5
In Pieces - 4/5
The Little Things Give You Away - 5/5 (another contender for favorite)

Notice how there's no ratings under 4.

Half and half

About half of the songs on it are ridiculously good, and the other half are just ok or not good. Bleed it out is probably the best song ever written in the history of the universe. Just sayin'.

Although rooted in alternative metal, Linkin Park became one of the most successful acts of the 2000s by welcoming elements of hip-hop, modern rock, and atmospheric electronica into their music. The band's rise was indebted to the aggressive rap-rock movement made popular by the likes of Korn and Limp Bizkit, a movement that paired grunge's alienation with a bold, buzzing soundtrack. Linkin Park added a unique spin to that formula, however, focusing as much on the vocal interplay between singer Chester...
