Give it Up...For Joi!!

I love this album. Tracks 2,5,6,7,9,10,11 have a dance/house vibe, while the remaining tracks slow down a bit into a more r&b groove. "I Got You" is sooooo Alicia Keys, with the piano, introduction, and production style. "What It Feels Like" is a chillout/longue song that you would most likely hear in a lounge club sitting on a purple sofa while drinking a martini. "Misunderstood" is a funky, r&b duet with a unidentified male rapper. "It's Over" is a darker, colder techno track than the other more warm, soulful dance tracks, but still great. "Change Your Mind" is a bass-thumping, downtempo r&b track with a message about a young girl who runs away from home to work the streets, and her friend is persuading her to 'change her mind' and go home to her mother- this is my fave song on the album. "Be Yourself"- well we've all heard this one before if you are a Joi fan, so I won't elaborate on this- but it's good that the track made it to this album, I thought it was a one-time deal with Blaze. "Sweet Memories" is a very slow, jazzy ballad which best demonstrates Joi's vocal range. "Let It Ride" is another house track, a little faster tempo on this one. "Give It Up" is superb in all aspects, very Jody Watley Midnight Lounge feel to it- warm, soulful house vibe here. " What Kind of Fool" is a another slow, jazzy ballad with piano background. "Freedom" is an uptempo, chillout/longue track. Well this is it- the Plain Jane Project. Joi is back- and always on her own terms. Congratulations- this album rocks!! Highly recommended, also her Hits & More album is great too. See more info at
