iTunes Editors’ Notes

The sonic architect of numerous huge hits, Lil Jon was at one time arguably the hottest producer in the game. Hailing from the crunk capitol of Atlanta, he had a knack for making addictively catchy club anthems, overflowing with freaky synth melodies, hyperactive high-hats, ample handclaps, trunk-rattling bass kicks, and sonar-style low-end thump. His sound was ubiquitous during the first half of the 2000s, and helped make what was initially a regional craze into an international, mainstream genre. His group Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz scored a number of hits (most notably "Bia’ Bia’" and "I Like Dem Girlz"), though it was his work with other artists — Ludacris, Lil Scrappy, Usher, Project Pat, etc. — that really pushed him over the top. This collection showcases some of his biggest singles, with a laundry list of key Dirty South collaborators such as Ying Yang Twins ("Get Low"), Pastor Troy ("Throw It Up"), and Usher ("Yeah!").
