Album Review

Produced by Anton Sanko, Lucy Kaplansky's second album showcases her songwriting, with strong ballads such as "If You Could See" and "Still Life," a moving character sketch that has been the centerpiece of her live performances. Her unique voice, steely and supple, moves easily from irony to aching sincerity, a feat not often accomplished since the early recordings of Judy Collins. Other highlights are a rollicking bluegrass version of Nick Lowe's "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding?" and a duet with John Gorka on Gram Parsons' legendary "Return of the Grievous Angel." Reverse before the first track for a hidden version of the Beatles' "I've Just Seen a Face."

Itunes does it again

The album has 11 tracks, Itunes are selling 11 tracks. It's not a partial album...just Itunes trying to screw us again!!

Still Life is A Classic Song

As an entire album, Flesh and Bone is good, but not geat. I'm a big fan of Lucy's and this is my least favorite of her albums - - which are all fantastic. Scorpion and This Is Mine are great songs but the run away winner here is Still Life - one of the very best songs I' ve ever heard. It will break your heart.

Flesh and Bone

Lucy Kaplansky is another of those Great guitarist/singers that just haven't been done right by the commercial radio. Hopefully xm/sirius will stomp commercial radio into history and we will be exposed to more artists that are already out there. (i.e.,Lucy Kaplansky) Great songwriting (i.e., Still life)........Raz'
