EDITORS’ NOTES

“Don’t need a metaphor for you to know I’m miserable,” sings Lynn Gunn on “What’s Wrong.” After PVRIS’ conceptual debut, White Noise, singer/guitarist Gunn confronts heartache and anxiety with new candor and vulnerability. It fuels a darker, broader sound without sacrificing the trio’s gift for arena-filling choruses. Their compelling fusion of rock and electronic suggests Florence + The Machine on the soaring, percussive “What’s Wrong” and “Heaven,” while they pull off the difficult trick of making rock music that’s dramatic and grand but not overripe on “No Mercy.”

Sydney Vanefsky,

I've been listening to this band since 2013/2014 and they've never disappointed with their sound and visuals. They blend so well, from Lyndsey's vocals, Alex's mesmerizing guitar parts, to Brian's bass lines, it's all mashed together to make some amazing sounds and i know for a fact this record will be absolutely fantastic. White Noise is still my all time favorite album, I listen through it at least once a day, and I have a feeling this one could top it. I especially can't wait to hear this entire thing live, it'll be an experience.

About PVRIS

Formed in 2012 by singer Lynn Gunn (born Lyndsey Gunnulfsen), alt rock trio PVRIS (pronounced "Paris") blend dreamy electronica with dark, beat-heavy rock. The Lowell, Massachusetts group also features former I Am the Fallen guitarist Alex Babinski and bassist Brian Macdonald. They delivered their self-titled debut EP in early 2013, building up their profile as a live act with some summer dates on the Vans Warped Tour, and in the fall joining the Rise Up Tour with Skylit Drive, Wolves at the Gate, and For All Those Sleeping. Teaming up with producer Blake Harnage (Versa), they entered the studio to work on their first album. In June 2014, PVRIS announced that they had signed with Rise Records, becoming the first female-fronted act on the famed metalcore label's roster. Their debut album, White Noise, arrived in November of that year. After a year of consistent touring, PVRIS announced their first headlining trek, which coincided with the re-release of White Noise, featuring the single "You and I." In 2017, the band joined Muse and Thirty Seconds to Mars on the road, just before the release of their sophomore set, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell. The album featured the singles "Heaven" and "What's Wrong." ~ Timothy Monger
