wow - surprisingly great second effort

though i really liked their first album "Sold for Tomorrow" it seemed The Moog was just another european indie cool band in the vein of the Arctic Monkeys, Hives, and Franz Ferdinand. but with this new record, they prove so much more than that. an original sound comes together on this slightly darker effort. though i hear Bauhaus as an influence this time around, they take that and impress with a wider take on indie post-punk sounds and make their own unique (central) European take on the genre. the songs are fantastic and paint pictures of mournful youth in Budapest looking for kicks and fun. the best songs on Razzmatazz are the vampiric double shot of "Mina" and "You Raised a Vampire" (with a hilarious video), the Cure-ish "Lost Day" and the 80s-synth pop of "When I See You" (catchy as hell). i can't be more impressed with this Hungarian band and i love this record.

Love this album - viva The Moog

Much better than their debut and that was a great record too. The band shows growth without sacrificing passion, and the songs are the better for it. "When I See You" and "Mina" are classics... like "I Like You" and "Survive" were on the first album. My favorite European indie band. My question is, when will they tour the US? Specifically Chicago!!

Not as good as their first album, but still ok

(Though Csabi didn't know how to play the instrument when he first met the band, his enthusiasm for the group caused him to learn quickly.) With the...
