Bomerama is fantastic live. These recordings do not come close to capturing how good they really are.


I've been trying to get my hands on their version of "When the Levee Breaks" ever since I saw them this summer at Saratoga Jazz Fest. Their rendition is absolutely amazing. I'm in awe of what this group can produce with trombones. Simply amazing.

You must hear these guys live. But if you can't, put on this album and turn it waaayyyy up.

Bonerama is one of the most creative groups I have run into in a while. I had no idea that trombones could be so rich and soulful.

Rock-oriented New Orleans brass band Bonerama were formed by trombonists Mark Mullins and Craig Klein, both of whom had been members of Harry Connick's band since 1990. Mullins obtained a weekly residency at the New Orleans nightclub Tipitina's in the summer of 1998 and turned it into a trombone summit. In addition to Klein, he enlisted trombonists Rick Trolsen, Steve Suter, and Brian O'Neill (who died of a heart attack in December 2005), as well as sousaphone player Matt Perrine and guitarist Bert...
