This collection shows that Alan Jackson always remained true to his neo-traditional sound; it doesn’t get more old-school than his sizzling leap through Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” But from the honky-tonk heaven of “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” to the tear-jerking ballad “Someday,” that warm, woody voice has delivered plenty of timeless tunes, even while taking a socially relevant turn with the chill-inducing post-9/11 tune “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).”
