More Live Strangefolk Please!

Without a doubt the most underated band of all time. Great show!


Wow! Underrated? I've seen these guys over 100 times live. They hit their peak in 2000 and have looked like the DJI ever since. They had a firm foundation built off of Reid's vocals, and they lost that when he left the band. Don't get me wrong, some of the music got a SH*T ton better (i.e. Paperback Book, Anchor, Paint, In Deep, etc), but NOTHING will make up for what they had in the past... Which, in retrospect, wasn't even that good. I finally opened my ears to what else was going on in music, and it's changed my outlook on everything (music wise). Thanks to Strangefolk for a ton of fun years, but they're only as good as the tapes underneath my bed.

Formed together by two college students from the University of Vermont, Reid Genauer (vocals/ guitar) and Jon Trafton (guitar) spent the first year together under the name Stranefolk while performing in pubs and coffee houses all throughout campus. Armed with only their acoustic guitars and distortion pedals, Genauer and Trafton eventually recruited Erik Glockler on bass and Luke Smith on drums, fulfilling the line-up as a four piece.
