Beautiful Album

I heard "Rumors from an Aeolian Harp" on 88.1 the jazz station in Los Angeles and knew I had to get this album. It's not only become one of my favorite jazz albums, but one of my favorite albums of all time!

The simplicity of it is breathtaking. Just piano and saxophone. At times haunting and sorrowful, at times chaotic and unsettling. Its poetic qualities are altogether inspiring and hopeful. This is the most timeless music I've ever heard. It plays like a film score - an ode to something. It is essentially an ode to a life, or at the very least, like the book itself, our place in nature. I admit I haven't read every page of Walden, but I'm sure if there was ever a book put to music, this is it.

If you are a writer, composer, painter, artist, thinker, or human being, then this is the album for you. This album does with music what The Beatles' "In My Life" does with words.

"Where I Lived, and What I Lived for" and "Life without Principle" are my select tracks.
