EPIC masterpiece

Temnozor is one of the best black folk metal bands to come out of the East. This album is by far their greatest!!! It uses so many different elements of both folk and black metal, including sounds of battlefields and nature. Temnozor can be considered NSBM, but in reality they mostly sing about ancient Russian pagan rituals, nothing offensive. This is a truly epic album for any fans of melodic folk/black metal (ex. mid-90s Burzum, Nokturnal Mortum, Agalloch, etc). BUY IT

Amazing Russian Folk BM

Temnozor is definitely one of the best black metal bands to come out of east europe in the past decade. Absolutely beautiful melodies, vocals, riffs and flute parts. I highly reccomend this to BM fans looking for a break from the usual "GR1M F0RESTS OF SAAAYYTAAAAN!!!"

Impressive

Azure Nights is quite a black metal gem. There's definitely some folk thrown in, but the black metal outweighs the folk quite easily, as it should in a black metal CD. The instrumentals are solid and the songs are well composed. There is some synth work in this album, but it's not overpowering or overdone. Black metal vocals + pagan chanting in Russian (?) mix it up enough to keep interest throughout, and songs are distinct enough to be noticeable while still keeping the overall feel of the album coherent. In a couple songs there is a little bit of flute thrown in that gets annoying, but it's certainly not enough to seriously harm my rating of this album. Good stuff, and recommended.
