The Freighthoppers - Ride the Train

This is one of the best old time groups that have come down the dusty road in many a day. Dave Bass' fiddling is rooted in the traditions of the Surry/Carroll County region but developed to an extent that he is a true original. Frank Lee is an expert accompanist on the banjo and the rhythm section is rock solid. I can't say enough about this band. It doesn't matter what tune Dave Bass puts his mind to it's going to come out of his fiddle on fire. Masterly music that will stand the test of time. Hear a legend in the making.

Missing the Hoppers

It's good to see that their albums made it on Itunes, whish these guys were still playing. If their style dosn't make you get up and dance-a-jig then nothing will.
