iTunes Editors’ Notes

It's deadmau5's passion for the full spectrum of electronic music that truly sets him apart from his EDM peers. From hair-raising tech-house to muscle-relaxing ambience, he jams a little bit of everything into his seventh full-length release, with the emphasis on full. At two-plus hours, with two fully mixed versions of each LP, While (1<2) is a monster. Part one is where you'll find the floor-fillers: "Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer" and "Phantoms Can't Hang" are enormous peak-hour tracks with clobbering bass. The producer branches out on part two, mixing in melancholy pianos and even distorted guitars. The stirring "Invidia" is a contemplative instrumental in the vein of Philip Glass, while "Seeya" is funky electro house. This is deadmau5's most adventurous album to date, which is saying something for this Indiana Jones of EDM.

Customer Reviews

Blah.

Okay, 99% of these reviews are "omg I can't wait until this releases I love deadmau5!!!" Just a heads up people, reviews are supposed to be your thoughts on the album, not how excited you are for it to release. How entirely annoying and misleading. I'm surprised iTunes allows these reviews to even post. Anyways, I pre-ordered this album expecting a lot. I love deadmau5's earlier stuff, but not this. It is filled with slow, depressing, uneventful piano ballads. I'm not sure if deadmau5 is trying to change his sound, but I don't like it. Out of the 27 tracks, I find myself only liking a handful and even those are mediocre at best. I wish I wouldn't have jumped the gun and purchased the whole album ahead of time. Oh well.

Better than Tiesto

Seriously only Deadmau5 stays true to himself he does not try so hard to be a sell out like many DJs, yes his live concerts are over the top but it least his music still stays true at what he really plays.

Deadmau5

I'm loving Avaritia can't wait for the whole album
