Curse the Sophomore Curse

Aaron Shust's new records destroys any premonition of the ever feared "sophomore curse." Since many bands spend more time on the road promoting their first record than writing, often their second record is weak in content. This, however, is not the case with "Whispered and Shouted". Shust's new record is leaps and bounds ahead of "Give Me Words To Speak" both sonically and in songwriting. Shust also managed to do all of this while touring extensively since the release of his first record. He captures the excitement of life with purpose in songs such as "Long Live the King" and "Like I Never Felt Before," and finds the beauty and intimacy of faith in songs like "Come to Me." This record is a must have and will no doubt be a favorite in houses across America.

Shust hits a home run and brings God all the Glory in the process

God's Glory, that seems to be the theme and purpose of this album. Shust manages to turn the spotlight away from himself and put it solely on Jesus Christ. Still not sure if this latest is as good as Anything Worth Saying, but most definitely 5 stars nonetheless. Long Live The King is as jubilent a worship song as one could hope for, and is by far my favorite on the album. Both long live the King and Like I Never felt before emphasixe the electric guitar and are a new sound for Shust. My other favorite is I Will Wait because it is catchy and worshipful and fun at the same time. Create Again, Life itself, The name of Jesus, Can't Hide from your love seem to radiate God's magnificent Glory. Runaway and Come to me seem as though they could be God's love spoken directly to us by God. So all in all a worship album in which Aaron decreases and Christ increases. All I have left to say is LONG LIVE THE KING!

I'm trying to get into christian music more, and this got me into it!
