Outlaw Alt Country from Oklahoma

Uncle Joey & The Mud Puppies is a Roots Rock band led by Uncle Joey, an original and unique character that is the Alter-Ego of Singer, Songwriter and Musician Joel Melton. Take the Bad-Boy Biker Country Roots Rock of David Allen Coe, throw in the Texas Blues Rock of Steve Earle and the Folk Rock Story-Telling Balladry of Tom Waits, and then add the Outlaw Country Style of Willie, Waylon and The Boys, along with a huge dose of New Millennium Political Incorrectness for extra flavor, and what you get is a Campfire Kettle full of Mud Puppy Stew Little Max centers on a full band feel informed by the blues. Joel Melton's songs expand the genre of Roots Rock and leave the listener with a familiar recognizable motivation while remaining original in their own sense The songs feature the composition highlighting a life lived to the fullest in 'Bessie Begins to Play' to the rowdy bar favorite...'I Like My Women Like I Like My Chicken.' The CD has songs that reach out and grab the listener by the...well lets just say it keeps them listening.

Great CD

My favorites are I like My Women, Little Max and Johnny Ray.
