The Worst of Edgar Winter

This album was a disapointment to me as an Edgar Winter for the past 3 decades. Don't waste your time and money on this

Huh??????? Drinking Rod Stewart juice or something?

Its truly sad when aging rock stars turn to lounge music. Edgar Winter is a musical genious, and to see him go down the same road as Rod Stewart is tragic. The music is not the Edgar Winter that I grew up with. Its not "They Only Come Out at Night"'s rocking Ronnie Montrose guitar or Edgar's keyboard and sax. Nor is it White Trash's whiteboy funk. It is just weak attempt at music. Avoid it, and avoid the Great American Songbook series by Rod Stewart.

Perfect "50's - early 60's sound"

I only bought Searching and Geisha Rock. But what I think is amazing is that Edgar Winter
(and whoever else helped him) completely captured (and perfectly) the "50's - early 60's sound."
I don't know of anyone else who did that (this good). It really has a genuine 50's - early 60's sound.
Hard to believe it was released in 1999. No Joke. Now the only big problem is that the wrong tunes
are covered (for the most part). Good intentions that went wrong.

Raised in Beaumont, TX, the younger brother of ukulele player and guitarist Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter has always pushed himself in new directions, synthesizing the rock, blues and jazz melodies he hears in his head. As a consequence, his fan base may not be what it could have been, had he made a conscious effort — like his brother Johnny — to stay in...
