Dark Stuff

If you dig Scott Walker, like me, you'll probably enjoy this. If you don't, or don't know who he is -like the people who have chimed in here before me- chances are you aren't going to quite "get it." Nothing wrong with that, though. Walker typically creates some pretty disturbing stuff these days, and this is an orchestral take on those themes.

I Love you Scott

Turn off the lights...get ready for the ride of your life. Do the same with the Drift.

j'adore scott walker...always the master

scott walker has always been an experimenter....a master at layering and sound. whether it's the lushly enigmatic works of the late 60's to the highly complex works of today's 'the drift' et al,he's always been quite forward thinking in the way of composing. even in his earlier works like 'boy child' or 'plastic palace people',it was always so much more idiosyncratic than what was playing in those days--and still nobody has been able to match anything he's done,no matter how much they've tried. people often throw the word genius round rather loosely these days, but quite honestly,i feel scott walker meets that description to truest forms. and hey this is amazing as always! it's such a post-modern form of classical. if there is such a thing or could be.

He then hooked up with John Maus and Gary Leeds to form the Walker Brothers. They weren't named Walker, they weren't brothers, and they weren't English, but they nevertheless became a part of the British Invasion after moving to the U.K. in 1965. They enjoyed a couple of years of massive success there (and a couple of hits...
