This is the type of score that made me fall in love with Desplat in the very beginning, before he was well known. If you're a fan of his earlier work or that of Rachel Portman or Josh Kramer, you will most certainly love this score. Well worth a full download.

extremely moving...

The book is amazing! Changed my life. The movie took my breath away. Had tears in my eyes almost the whole time. The characters, camera work, dialogue from the book, and the music all fit together perfectly!!!! Go see the movie and read the book!


The movie was very depressing, and the music reflects that fact, but in a beautiful way that makes you feel like even in the worst of times, there will always be a silver lining. The movie was the same way. Put simply, both the movie and the score are extremely beautiful, and incredibly moving.
