True Viking

After one listen to the entire album I can definitely say this may be the bands finest hour. Dark, melodic, and heavy. Borknagar have a uniqueness about them that stands out. Well done gentlemen.

They cut the cheese

Man, what a great album. Melodic, and heavy, with beautiful vocals and great screams. I have always liked Borknagar, but I have always been a little turned off by some of the cheesy, extra folksy moment's that they have decided to incorporate. In this instance, they have kept the folk in the songs without sounding ridiculous. It sounds a lot like Amorphis with some Soilwork mixed in at times. Truly an epic album in every sense of the word.
