Gregory Page is San Diego's Jem

While this album expresses Gregory's earlier song writing skills, a mixture of sad irony and black comedy infect many of the songs. These songs i believe were recorded after Gregory left Rugburns. This was around the time when Jewel became famous. Gregory was more a Folk act then, even though the live shows at Java Joes were uplifting, fun, and packed. This album is more a time capsule. It shows you where Gregory was at this time, and how the greatest songwriter in San Diego got his start.

pleasantly wistful

There is something so classic and yet so original about his sound. A French bistro or a Southern California coffee-house could be called home as a venue for this unique artist.

Still a solid Album!

I have liked G.P for well over a decade now & with each album comes a wonderful new view of a real artist. 'Romantic Adventures of Harry' is an American classic It never fails to take the listeners on a soft dance through love ballads like 'A song for Marlla' while quickly spinning you into a darker humor. Songs Like 'Cyrus' and 'Last nights lover' leave your heart open with both love and sadness. It's just a beautiful well rounded album.
