Album Review

An engulfing combination of Slow and Low's brazen experimentalism, and Otaku and Cloud's concentrated ambiance and subtle melodiousness. Ostensibly a concept album integrating field recordings gathered from his travels around the world, the album is much more integrated and involved than much of his early solo work. His best work to date.

One of Tetsu Inoue's best albums

This is a beautiful album, complex and subtle. At first it didn't work for me, but after letting it just play out in the background, with a good level of volume to take advantage of the periods of deep bass in this record, I now really enjoy it. This is one of Inoue's best albums on the FAX records label. Although, I don't think it was ever released on FAX. I'm glad I was able to find it here.

Best after 1st listen...

Like the first reviewer, I started the album wondering if I had made a mistake getting it, and ended the album glad I did. It takes awhile for Tetsu's highly abstract almost musique concrete compositions on this album to sink in. Once they do though, you are able to appreciate the deep, subtle, sentimental textures that he weaves. It ends up being a very touching album. Give it a chance.
