iTunes Review

Revitalized by the chart-topping success of their 2012 single “Where I Belong,” Building 429 sustains its momentum with the consistently strong We Won’t Be Shaken. The Christian pop/rock quartet recalls the ‘90s heyday of such legendary combos as dcTalk and Newsboys with a batch of anthemic rockers and dramatic ballads that combine personal testimony with a universal message of redemption. Producers Jason Ingram, Rusty Varenkamp and Rob Hawkins frame Jason Roy’s heroic yet vulnerable vocals with dynamic arrangements that build to shout-along choruses. Any CCM fan looking for a jolt of inspiration should find it in propulsive tracks like “Bonfire, “Blameless” and “Revolution.” The acoustic guitars and gang vocals of the title track and the body-grabbing shuffle groove of “Get Up” add sonic variety. Roy shares the mic with Group 1 Crew’s Blanca Callahan on “Wrecking Ball (Press On),” a summery shuffle with an island feel. Slinky to thunderous riffage by guitarist Jesse Garcia and muscular drumming by Michael Anderson keeps the music crisp and supple throughout.

Best Album Yet...

In my 7+ years of using ITunes, I have never taken the time to write an album review - yours is the first. AMAZING. That's the only word I have. You guys continue to amaze me with your stage presence, energy, heart for music, ability to write crazy awesome lyrics, and most importantly - your love for Jesus and desire to give your lives to serve Him. You all leave your families to go out on the road, and I can't imagaine what a sacrifice that is... all I know is God is sure gonna bless you for it. This album is my favorite of yalls thus far. Great songs and great worship. You can really tell that you're in this industry for the right reasons, and that you're doing this to bring glory to God, and God alone. Thank yall for being such a refreshing change in this world and for making great music for us to sing to Jesus! Love you guys!

Absolutely fantastic CD!!! I love everything about it!! Words, music, arrangements...EVERYTHING!! Not one bad song!! The bass player is the bomb!!! Favorite band!! Great job guys!!!!

Amazing group!

B429 is far and away one of my favorite groups and they've done it again. Their music is so well done and isn't the same cookie cutter music a lot of other artists are getting plays with. Love it!

With a name taken from Ephesians 4:29 ("Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up"), Building 429 are committed to music as much as message. Led by vocalist/guitarist Jason Roy, in its early days the band also featured bassist Scotty Beshears, guitarist Paul Bowden, and drummer Michael Anderson. In 2004 the band made an immediate impression on the CCM community, watching its debut EP, Glory Defined, and its title track single hit the...
