12 Songs, 50 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

On his solo debut, Alter Bridge and Slash vocalist Myles Kennedy laments the death of his father in 1974—the Year of the Tiger in the Chinese zodiac—when Kennedy was just four years old. The acoustic guitar-driven album sees Kennedy avoiding the high-flying vocal acrobatics of his primary bands, occupying a lower register while playing guitar, banjo, lap steel, and mandolin on the rousing honky-tonk of "Devil on the Wall," the somber "Blind Faith," the haunting "Turning Stones," and the booming, infectious title track.

Year of the Tiger rocks!

For the negative reviewer, this Album is listed as rock not metal! Shouldn’t be seeing any negative reviews on here! Myles is amazing and we need more artists like him! Thank you for this awesome release and looking forward to hearing the rest of the songs :)

Myles as Myles

Year of the Tiger will not be filled with anthemic Alter Bridge tracks, or fast paced Slash hits, it will be Myles Kennedy being Myles Kennedy and expressing himself in a beautifully artistic manner- and we should all be incredibly grateful that he's sharing that with us. To be able to write and release such a personally important album is commendable and if the track Year of the Tiger is even remotely like the rest of the album, then we are in for a treat. I can't wait for the remainder of the album and I hope that you all enjoy it for what it is. Tell your friends!

Was thinking I wouldn't like it

Based on what I had been hearing about this album, I didn't know if I'd like it. The first song (Year of the Tiger) didn't really grab me at first. But after repeated listens, it really started to grow on me. Then other songs came out and I was sold. While different than AB or M4 or his work with Slash, I really love it.
