So Damn Good!!!!!

I saw David play live for the first time in October, 2006 in Atlanta's Chastain Park when he opened for John Mayer. He was fantastic!! I bought this CD that night and he was gracious enough to autograph it. I have been waiting for his work to be available on I-tunes so the rest of the world could experience the fire I felt that cold night when he blew us all away. This Cd is awesome and I wish him all the musical success it should garner him. If you love beautifully written, clever lyrics, soulful singing and genius, lush arrangements, this is for you.

High Quality as usual but.....

It seems to be MOSTLY a combo of re-arrangements of songs he's done already or interpretations of other performers and a new cut (or one I missed) thrown in for good measure. I was a convert during his "FFN" (Follow 4 Now) days. His lyrical delivery and velvet smooth soulful voice on ROCK tracks was just too cool. This stuff is good but as I already have the rest of his albums getting me getting this would be redundant. However if you want a sampling from a range of songs from other projects (like the Brand New Immortals) and this is your first time getting a dose of DRH then by all means pick it up.

Wish he didn't leave ATL

I used to have the privelege of seeing DRH on a weekly basis in Atlanta when he would PACK Smiths Olde Bar on Thursday nights doing solo shows. Then, one day he was gone to LA. He was one of the best performers in Atlanta, and I have yet to see a local musician be as enjoyable to watch and listen to as he is.

Singer/songwriter David Ryan Harris has been challenging mainstream notions of black performers since fronting the Atlanta-based rock group Follow for Now in the late '80s. Once tabbed as the next Living Colour, the band actually drew from an even wider stylistic palette -- everything from Stevie Wonder-style soul to Bad Brains thrash to bluebeat bounce -- but didn't enjoy similar success and broke up after releasing one eponymous album on Chrysalis in 1991. Harris then played a huge role in the...
