Nothing quite like it

This was the first album from My Epic that I heard and it convinced me to become a fan right away. "Yet" has a distinct sonic impact that features the distortion that we come to know and love in hardcore music, yet it's a break from the mold with clean vocals from Aaron Stone that tie in beautifully, creating a mixture of serenity and chaos. What I love most about My Epic, apart from their ability to play with an expansive range of music styles without ever detracting from "their sound", is the depth and sincerity in their lyrics. There are so many ideas that come across in a single song and there have been many times where a single verse just rings in my mind for days and makes me ponder the deeper truths behind it. Some of my favorite tracks include "Lower Still", "Sound and Fury", "Ashes", and "Perfector", but honestly this whole album is a home run in my book.
