Album Review

This was the first in what would become a series of Bellamy Brothers greatest-hits compilations released over the years. These ten tracks are the original versions on Warner Bros. that were played to death on the radio at the beginning of the urban cowboy craze, including "Let Your Love Flow," "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)," "Redneck Girl," and "For All the Wrong Reasons."

Great Collection!

If this is your first initiation to Howard and David's music, then it is the essential one. These guys are true country, even though their lead-off hit was a huge pop smash. You really can't find two nicer guys, and I speak from personal experience. The guys maintain a family ranch in Florida, and know how to punch a few head of cattle. They are good friends here in Bakersfield, California, and in fact have a wonderful shrimp dish named in their honor at a fine Basque resturant. The Best of The Bellamy's should be in your collection, if not, you're missing a great piece of American music; rock, pop, or otherwise!

More than most acts of the late '70s and '80s, the Bellamys pushed the borders of country music, adding strong elements of rock, reggae, and even rap, racking up a string of Top Ten singles that ran into the early '90s, after which they remained...
