Aaron Gillespie recorded the tracks for his sophomore solo album in 10 different cities while on an international tour with Paramore. If the songs on Grace Through the Wandering capture something of a vagabond spirit musically, its worshipful lyrics are anchored in fervent Christian faith. The former Underoath member (and current leader of The Almost) offers engaging pop/rockers like “Wake Us Up,” “Meet Me,” and “In You There’s Hope,” spiced up with the stripped-down electronica of “Hold Me Close” and a swampy backwoods take on the classic hymn “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.”
