I'm only here to say...

that this is by far my favorite piece of work by Maps and Atlases. The spunk, originality, and style conveyed in these five songs is, to say the least, overwhelming in the most beautiful way. So with that being said, you, yes you, should give this a hearty listen.

Five diamonds...

These are five of my favorite Maps cuts...their natural harmony and insane ability merges for an unforgettable EP. The story of Ted Zancha was related to me following a show in Omaha 2012 directly from Shiraz - who is accessible, humble, and downright cool....just like the entire band. Percussion of Daily News is beyond the sun.

Eccentric indie rock band Maps & Atlases feature Erin Elders (guitar), Shiraz Dada (bass), Chris Hainey (drums), and Dave Davison (guitar/vocals). Although they are based in Chicago, the members of Maps & Atlases prefer to align themselves with the term they define as "new regionalism." Dada is actually the only one who calls Chicago home. Hainey hails from Texas, whereas Elders has soaked up the sun in Maui. Davison had a humble Midwestern upbringing in Indiana. The foursome initially met at a Chicago...
