This New Direction By Tiesto Ain't Working For Me

Very disappointed in this new sound and direction that Tiesto is taking. I know he's trying to leave the trance scene since Armin Van Buuren is king of trance right now, but all these tunes on this new album are way too "Pop" and "Electro" to me. I'm just not feeling it. I love the old Tiesto and I was hoping Tiesto would produce some amazing new trance since he has the potential... but I'm gonna take a pass on this album. Especially when half of the singers are from the hip-hop/r&b scene. Definitely not feeling it. Even if I was into electro and pop, there's nothing catchy or worth listening to over and over and over again. I don't get a single goosebump from any of the tunes. Very disappointed in this album! :-(

New Sound, Same Great TIESTO

Kaleidoscope is Tiesto taking trance to a different level. While he may get criticism from many for abandoning the trance scene, or going commercial, the real fans of Tijs and trance itself know that he is simply progressing. Kaleidoscope is very different from his previous album Elements of Life, however still captures club pulsing sound and chill out tracks. With collaborations with Cary Bros, Jonsi, Calvin Harris, Nelly Furtado, and more, Tiesto delivers an album that his fans will enjoy, while experimenting with indie rock sounds like those of previous hits In The Dark and Break My Fall, while still supplying instrumental tracks like the title track Kaleidoscope, Louder than Boom, and Fresh Fruit. Tiesto further proves why he is one of the worldest greatest DJ's and the King of Trance.

Great Oakenfold album....I mean Tiesto?

You were the one, one of the few that I would patiently wait years for. I'd roam through ISOS looking for new harmonies, words less spoken, different sounds that I had discovered before. -- How can you follow up ISOS with this trash!? Where's the trance? Where the progrossive hooks, loops and beats? Did aliens come and take Teisto? This album (I can't even speak the name) is an easy 1*. what use to be dark clubs, laser shows, E and music you could get lost in, is now.....ordinary, boring. This music is great...if you like 80s hipster Euro-pop. Thank you Tiesto for all the great years. You've officially gone Oakenfold on us. For those looking for Trance, take your search no further than Above&Beyond VOL 7. Dont let his star rating fool you trance fans, this album is not what you think. Those that are giving this album 5* either haven't follow Tiesto the last ten plus years. Or, they just reached puberty last week. This album is trash.

Highly regarded by both DJ Magazine and fans of electronic dance music, Tiësto launched his career as one of the world's foremost trance DJs, due in part to his legendary six-hour live sets, and went on to embrace a more pop-oriented EDM approach.
