My Journey into the Major 7 chord...

I love this album! Fond memories of South Carolina in 1977 and learning to play "Just Remember I love You" on the guitar with all its major 7 chords. Beautiful song and beautiful harmonies. The rest of the album is really great, too. They are much less of the sappy soft rock genre (like Air Supply, Bread, etc.) most people associate them with and are much more Country/Acoustic rock like CSN, Chris Hillman Band, Pure Prairie League, Poco, Orleans, etc. Definitely fit into the times. They were and are a very underrated band, but they had 2 major hits in 77 and they are both on this album. Cinderella, Livin' Ain't Livin and It Doesn't Matter were nominal hits for them and great songs. Definitely check it out if you want to go swooshing back to 1977.

Firefall,to me,was kinda Eagles meet America music.Nothing wrong with that-they were a bit of a guilty pleasure for alot of us.Great harmonies, catchy tunes, good times. This release is sort of Firefall's Greatest Hits lite. The first 8 tunes are all great, the last 2,throwaways.There's a Best Of compilation out there with about 18-20 cuts. But,if you like these guys, too, download these choice cuts.

One of the later 70's best soft rock albums

With the overtone from bands like America, Firefall is one of the best late 70's soft rock bands that ever existed. And this album "You are the woman" sumarizes their musical summit in an incredible range of guitar's highs and lows, with amazing love songs that some may consider mushy, but nevertheless, a great display of deep lyrics performed with soft yet impressive vocals reminescent of a time when things were better...

The mellow, easy country-rock sounds of Firefall, coupled with the group's penchant for pop melodies and high-pitched harmonies, produced a series of successful LPs in the late '70s and a series of chart singles, including the Top Ten hit "You Are the Woman." The group was formed by former Flying Burrito Brother Rick Roberts, who handled vocals, guitar, and most of the songwriting duties; he was joined by fellow ex-Burrito and Byrd Michael Clarke on drums, ex-Spirit and Jo Jo Gunne bassist Mark Andes,...
