The White Stripes know what rock is...

This is one of the best songs off of Icky Thump, and the alternate version is very stripped down and primal. The acoustic version of "A Martyr For My Love For You" only enhances Jack White's already tender love song. I love everything The White Stripes do.

Viva la White Stripes.

I dont understand how someone can say that their music is starting to sound the same. I believe this album is, besides De Stijl, their most musically creative album. I mean they use bagpipes on two tracks and they blend wonderfully, melotron, which will enhance any White Stripes song, and last but not least Meg has improved greatly in her drumming. I find the album to be refreshing, and quite frankly, the only true music being produced nowadays. Most people, hipsters, listen to whats on the radio and TWS, asides from Seven Nation Army haven't really been played broadly, in America, at all. As for slowing down, I think they're going at a fine pace, they took an extra six months to work on this album, compared to the release between their other albums. Long live the White Stripes.

Wake up

For all the naysayers, you don't know what love is you are just do as your told!! Why should the white stripes give you your mainstream crap? You guys probably listen to that fall out boy crap. To each his own.

A former drummer for the Detroit-based country outfit Goober & the Peas, he also displayed an affinity for American folk music, and the White Stripes took strength in the varied interests...
