Power-Pop for Lovers of Melody (and "Melanie")

From the geniuses who gave us the pop-rock classic "Melanie" a decade ago comes a superb odds-and-ends album that deftly exceeds most bands' "magnum opus." This offering of previously unreleased material and demos is a triumph of Beatles-era tunefulness. Assembled by Nines composer/multi-instrumentalist Steve Eggers, "Polarities" bursts with rhythm and flavor, expertly blending upbeat power-pop (album opener "Anything") and seductive piano-based ballads ("You Know" and the Randy Newman-influenced "Vanessa") to exhilarating effect. It's the musical equivalent of a See's Candy assortment—a confection collection sure to delight all lovers of highly melodic craftsmanship. It's a stunner.

I can't believe they came out with another album! Sooooo Happppyyyyyy!!!!
