More than a J. White Sideman

I've followed this excellent musicians career for it's duration. This is his best to date. There are some real gems on this album. An excellent fusion of rock and pop. Nice clear production.

Another winner

I’ve been a Brendan Benson fan for a really long time. Lapalco and One Mississippi have always been my favorites and I really loved What Kind of World, but I think this record may be overtaking all of them. The writing on this record is amazing. It’s like he finally channeled his ‘60s and ‘70s influences. A bit of George Harrison, a bit of Bowie, etc., but it’s still him. So many people keep waiting for more of the Raconteurs, but I want more Brendan Benson solo. He’s on a roll.

Definitely recommended

Brendan Benson is one of my favorite artists. This album is a collection of monthly singles released throughout 2013 plus a few more unreleased tracks, reworked pieces from throughout his career. There isn't a killer single in the bunch, but the collection of 70's influenced power pop totally works. Very George Harrison and Badfinger.

However, Benson remained a minor part of the musical mainstream until 2005, when he began collaborating with...
