iTunes Review

An up-and-coming rapper originally from Rhode Island, Mike Stud was a standout college baseball pitcher who started dabbling in music as a joke. He debuted in 2010 with the single (and YouTube video) "College Humor." With a girls-'n'-beer frat-rap style reminiscent of Sam Adams, Asher Roth, Mac Miller, et al., the video eventually racked up more a million views and inspired Mike Stud to get (relatively) serious about rhyming. Three mixtapes followed (A Toast to Tommy, Click w/ Huey Mack, and #SundayStudDay), paving the way to his first full album, Relief. Sports references, casual sex conquests, and rampant partying abound; it's all set to relentlessly catchy production from big-name pop players like Brian Lee and Luke Walker (who worked with Carly Rae Jepsen and Sugar Ray, respectively). Whether Mike Stud has what it takes to break into the big leagues remains to be seen, but at the very least he should get a few starts. Check out "Batter Up," "Kids," and "Perfect for Me."

A Must Have

Mike Stud is pound for pound one of THE best rappers out. He may not have the publicity as some of the bigger name rappers, but this dude packs a punch, from his party songs guaranteed to make your night crazy and get the place turned up, or his more mellow story-tellers, this dude has it all. An excellent sound, and punchlines and wordplay that very few rappers can top. He's in my top three. And based off the three singles he's released from the album, and pre-sale only being 7.99, Relief is a must have for all.

What I expected

Mikes trying to make it big, I understand, so with that being said, this album is rather mainstream, which of course will increase his popularity, but disappoints a kid like me who just loved his sports punchlines and what not. Regardless, it's been awesome watching him develop as an artist over time. Seen him live 3 times and met him every time, humble guy that loves to turn up. This album is a sigh of relief, for he is closing in on his quest for fame. Congrats Seander, welcome to the bigs.

I already preordered it and I'm seeing you in Chicago June 25th!!

Most hip-hop stars don't get their start playing college baseball, but Mike Stud is one MC who used his downtime from the diamond to hone his skills rhyming and rapping.
