iTunes Editors’ Notes

A "restoring force," in the parlance of physicists, returns equilibrium to an otherwise imbalanced system. The phrase makes an apt title for metalcore mavens Of Mice and Men's third album. Having endured numerous lineup changes—including most recently the departure of bassist and clean vocalist Shayley Bourget (here replaced by Aaron Pauley)—the band sounds reinvigorated on this pummeling set. While the nasty sawtooth guitars sound like they could be responsible for the titular "Bones Exposed," Pauley's sonorous chorus on the track shows off the group's new secret weapon. They've also discovered a knack for melody, with songs like "Another You" and "Feels Like Forever" balancing circle-pit chaos with harmonized heaviness. Restoring Force is a welcome step forward for Of Mice and Men.

Customer Reviews

Eh...

I've loved this band ever since the first album, and as lazy as the flood rerelease songs sounded, I liked those as well. But the riffs in this single are exceptionally simple, the drumming is the most boring I've heard in a while, the screams are more like yells with no dynamics or change in pitch, the vocals are just... It's all "Eh". I hope the rest of the album is more technical and involves some emotion or creativity, this just feels like it was put together in a few hours.. I love these guys though I hope it gets better 😖

My opinion.

Honestly, I like their old sound more than this. But I'm willing to wait till the whole album is out before negatively criticizing it because of one song. Slightly disappointed with the new song, tbh. But that's just MY opinion so whatever. Can't wait to hear the whole album, though.

So Far So Good

So far I am impressed with the new single. RIP old OM&M, but hello new found sound and i'm so excited :D loved their old stuff, but different always excites me. especially when it sounds as good as this single!
