One of the greatest game soundtracks ever composed

Actraiser's music is beautiful, compelling, complex and refreshing. When it was first released, the score was revolutionary, and today these SNES samples are still enjoyable. While a full orchestral treatment does the music more justice, there is a marvelous charm to the songs in their original form. I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys game music, and it may also be of interest to those who enjoy classical style composition outside the gaming realm.

Agreed, best videogame score of all time

I've had this score in my head since I was a kid. It was groundbreaking at the time, one of the first (if not the first) symphonic scores, and so beautiful. What's really cool is Yuzo Koshiro's use of synthesized sounds to represent orchestral instruments, it's campy but wonderfully done. Successfully done. I miss those days. Northwall is my favorite, one of my favorite pieces of all time. A masterpiece of a score (and Actraiser is a great game too, one of the best for the SNES).

I loved actraiser. If only he had the soundtrack from actraiser 2 out.
