This concert document marks what could easily be considered the single-night pinnacle of The Plimsouls’ all-too-short career. The year was 1981. The band were already one of L.A.'s most exciting club outfits, and they were on the verge of releasing “A Million Miles Away,” the soaring single that would turn them into national stars. On Halloween night, they appeared at the venerable Sunset Strip club Whisky a Go-Go for a sweat-drenched concert that was broadcast to fans over local airwaves. Live! Beg, Borrow & Steal documents that night in its entirety. It's rare that such a crucial show in the history of one band’s lifespan would be preserved with the sparkling fidelity of this recording. The Plimsouls were never looser or more electrifying, and you can hear their energy surging through the hometown audience. Herein lies an essential piece of L.A. rock history, and one of the most vital club performances ever caught on tape.
