Customer Reviews

If you own any "Disneymania" records, scrap 'em for this.

While today's "Disneymania" is expected to appeal to today's kids with it's bubblegummy trash pop, this is a quality collection of Disney covers from among the very finest songs Disney songwriters have written. The songs are all enjoyable to listen to, but the overall highlights have got to be LL Cool J's "Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf," the Gipsy King's "I've Got No Strings," Bobby McFerrin's "Siamese Cat Song," and Soul II Soul's "Kiss The Girl," which actually features former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Anan singing the bass part. I actually find all these artists highly enjoyable, minus Michael Bolton (for the most part I LOATHE him, but his version of "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" isn't too bad), and Kirk Whalum (kinda boring, plus we don't need another interpretation of "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf!"). Those two aside, the music on this album beats the hell out of today's "hot artists" like Raven Simone, Ashley Tisdale, Hayden Panettiere, the Jonas Brothers, and Hillary Duff...gag me please.

No kidding!

I still have this special stashed away in my VHS cabinet, I maybe watched it once or twice when I was little. This is awesome. I know a few of these artists... billy joel, michael bolton, LL cool J, and Harry Connick, Jr.

Simply mad about the music

Hooray for iTunes! Last time I checked, the only songs they had from this album were the ones I don't prefer. My favorites are Harry Connick Jr.'s and Bobby McFerrin's songs (of course, it's hard to go wrong with them :) ). I really don't like Ric Ocasek's version of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, and I think L.L. Cool J's Big Bad Wolf gets old fast. The rest are pretty fun. Basically, if you enjoyed the movie, you'll enjoy the album. :)
