Album Review

For several months, high-profile producer and DJ BT has presented a weekly program, dubbed Laptop Symphony, for Sirius XM. Here, he puts together a like-titled mix that acts as a permanent version of what a listener can expect to hear: an up-to-date cross-section of progressive trance and commercial dubstep and house — or EDM ("electronic dance music"). Appearances come from the likes of Feed Me ("Cloudburn"), Wolfgang Gartner ("Ménage à Trois"), and Ferry Corsten ("Punk [Arty Rock-n-Rolla Mix]"), as well as BT himself., Rovi

Thumbs down

I'm a longtime BT fan and had been awaiting a full length up tempo album for quite some time ... only get a dubstep album. I can appreciate wanting to experiment in new genres, and while you can hear BT's "thumbprint" all over this album I can honestly say I HATE this entire album. I could be wrong but it feels like he gave in to the whole Skrillex trend instead of being true to his own style, and there's nothing about this album that I find pleasing to the ear or mind. That's just my 2 cents, but if you're into dubstep you'll probably like this.

By FAR the best Compilation Album out there right now….

There's been so many electro and dubstep compilations recently and none of them have even come close to the unimaginable brilliance of this mix. Each single track is OBVIOUSLY a killer dancefloor track but also wonderfully produced. No track is bland and repeated like most mixes. I hope BT gets some BIG recognition this year because not only is he an amazing and inspiring producer, but he just understands music and what's good even in over-played, generic styles. Props to you Mr. BT, and may 2013 finally bring you an EDM Grammy.

Great compilation

Great comp but...... Youngbloodz?! I don't understand this pick - it's a pretty old track, too.

His concept of epic house inspired by the classical training he received from an early age, Brian Transeau revitalized the British dance community in the mid-'90s and provided a point of entry for later dream house merchants like Robert Miles, Sash!, and BBE (though Transeau had, for the most part, left the style behind by the time of its pop success during 1997-1998). After his debut album appeared in late 1995 (as BT), Transeau hit the dance charts when his remix of Tori Amos' "Blue Skies" became...
