Complete swindle, just don’t.
I cannot believe how ripped off I feel by this entire company. Last week I bought an iRig pro because it was advertised as being useable with the iPad pro which I guess is technically true, but functionally its a different story. It was supposed to come with free downloads of AmpliTube, Sample Tank, GrooveMaker, etc. After registering my product and navigating through their super clunky website I found that the “free” downloads were only available for a computer, not on iOS, with the exception of AmpliTube, so I downloaded it. It’s a totally neutered version, and even after entering my registration info for the physical product I bought, no features were unlocked. So I gambled on this package and boy did I roll a deuce! It came with AmpliTube and I figured it would be a different more feature-heavy version since it was downloading a new instance of the app... nope. Same neutered 2-track crap. Only now it’s on my iPad twice! GrooveMaker is virtually unusable, poorly designed, (oh and they don’t tell you until it’s too late that you’re supposed use it with their plug-in pads) Sample tank is possibly the most offensive of the entire suite, every pane, every tap, every swipe, brings up another link (or 10) for more in-app purchases for packs/modules ranging from around $4 to $40, it’s basically adware. IK is just trying to milk you for as much as possible without even offering you a useful product. Quite frankly it’s insulting. Unfortunately I’m now into them for around $200 bucks. Let me serve as an object lesson in what not to do. Spend money on some other possibly more expensive interface or DAW that you’ll only have to pay for once, this package may seem like a good deal, but it’s the audio equivalent of a flight on Spirit Airlines.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
