What's New in Version 6.5.4

Good day, folks! Today's update brings with it a fix for a crash that would occur while trying to import a file into 1Password. For those of you updating from 1Password 3 this crash made that task especially difficult and for that we apologize.

1Password never prompts you for a review because we value your workflow too much to interrupt it. If you're feeling generous and have a couple of minutes, please leave a review. It makes a huge difference to us. Thank you in advance!

Customer Reviews

The most important app you will ever buy

I work in Security, and I am frequently asked by friends how can they protect themselves from all of the website hacks they read about. My first suggestion is always to buy 1Password and to use it to generate new passwords for every site they log into. The average internet user's biggest risk is using the same email address and password to log into every site. If one site is hacked, the attackers can try that email/password combo on banking sites, shopping sites, etc. If you make proper use of 1Password, you are safe against credential re-use attacks. It also helps to protect you against keyloggers. Double win.

This mobile app syncs passwords with the desktop application, allowing you to have easy access to your new unmemorizable passwords wherever you go. I'll be honest, it adds a little complexity. Sometimes I have to copy and paste passwords out of 1Password and into apps on my phone to be able to log in, but the enhanced security and peace of mind are absolutely worth it.

If you care about keeping hackers out of your accounts, buy the mobile and desktop versions of 1Password and make them a part of your daily on-line life.

Awesome Password Manager with great support

Been using 1Password for a long time. Used to have a glowing review here, but there are enough of those. So instead going to give a shout out to their support forums. Not only does this app do a great job of managing my passwords, but they are very proactive in dealing with customer concerns, security issues, etc. at their support forums. When security issues arise with password managers they tend to post honest details about the problems. They seem to listen to feedback, have made details about how the password database is stores publicly available, so external security researches can double check on it. It’s well and good to talk about how well a password manager functions, but the important stuff is under the hood and hard for most people to tell how secure it actually is. AgileBits does a great job of addressing those concerns. So yes, the password manager has lots of cool useful features, but those are just icing. The underlying security models and the well handled support forums are why I rate this 5 stars.

Beyond security

I rarely write a review but this product has become such an integral part of my day-to-day that I feel compelled. I knew I wanted to make my digital life more secure - that is a given. But what I did not realize is how much more efficient this product makes things for me. I wasted so much time retrieving forgotten passwords. The ability to keep scanned document copies handy, like insurance cards, passports, etc is just fantastic for someone on the move. I love being able to check credit card expiration dates and frequent flyer numbers on my Apple Watch through 1Password. Yes, get it for the security, but you'll keep it for the newfound control. One feature I think should be highlighted more by the company is the ability to replace google authenticator (used for 2 Factor Authentication) with the One-Time Password feature in 1Password. This is inherently more secure if someone were to get access to your phone.
