This reading comprehension app has stories about the children's daily life. Four stories are available for free, and another 16 (20 total) are available for in-app-purchase. You can also create and add your own stories to the app.

Each story has about 80-100 words. Each story introduces new vocabulary and concepts, and is followed by a set of exercises that measure the student's comprehension. The exercises include multiple choice questions, true/false questions and matching exercises that ask the student to match words or concepts with their definition.

This app allows unlimited individual users, and provides detailed reports on each student's progress. The app can be configured to email the progress reports to a parent or teacher.

There are two modes: Practice Mode and Test Mode. In practice mode, the student is given visual and audio feedback as they answer each question.

You can create and add your own stories, along with images and questions. You can sync all the data (stories, images, questions, user accounts, reports, etc.) to your dropbox account, and import all the data to another iPad.

In addition to teaching science, this app helps develop reading, vocabulary and comprehension skills.

Some words are mispronounced

If the child has trouble reading certain words, he can touch the word and the voice will read it for him. Great concept, but some words are mispronounced. The sentence is Astronauts "live" in spaceships. The voice reads, Astronauts "live" (as in Live from channel ten!) in spaceships. Please correct this. Also the very first question in the same story says, "That is the story about?" instead of "What is the story about?)

Seller has an "agenda"

Okay I love these apps....but seriously! Today one of my students picked "Rita's Pin". First of all the story is uninteresting, no picture and your final sentence is "Rita is against any kind of war". These are 6-7 year olds, they don't need this kind of "anti-war" jargon. If you want to push that kind of message, then choose another venue! Take your anti-war message somewhere else.

This is a good app for reading and phonics and it really helps the kids out
