What's New in Version 5.1
- Schedule improvements
Fabulous for any tennis fan!
This app is awesome! Up-to-date tracking of the scores, schedule of play, and draws. I just found the live videos of matches when they aren't showing them on the tele. ESPN has pretty good coverage during the week, but CBS on the weekend was awful! They didn't show any of the night matches and there were some matches by top ranked players, eg. Djokovic, Li Na, Radwanska. I was happy to find Tim Smyczek's (he was last American left in the draw) match against Granollers. And I've never been to Flushing Meadows, but it was fun to see the aerial view of the grounds and where the courts are. Brilliant app.
Tennis scores with plenty of glitches
The app fulfills one of its basic purposes relatively well - one can see scores, schedules and draws of USOpen tennis championship. However, even these relatively simple tasks manage to frustrate with small glitches: phone can be unresponsive for tens of seconds, app crashes sometimes, live scores are not updated for minutes (delayed scores are not that live).
It is more advanced tasks where app fails: live radio steaming is interrupted constantly and breaks up for good after several minutes. Live video feed can work perfectly for hours, but can freeze for minutes.
Game of tennis can be exciting and surprising at the Open, but USOpen App always stays true to its buggy and faulty nature.
Just not great!
Previous years this app has been much better. Just downloaded the update and I see little improvement. Still very challenging to scroll up and down. Would be nice if I could look at live scores and results just like I look at draws...by event. I just want to follow the men's scores but I have to scroll through ladies' and sometimes boys and girls and then might find some stray men's scores. The menu button seems very slow to respond to the touch and I often have to hit it 3-4 times. Simply not as good as some other Grand Slam apps I've used before.
