3D NASAL VISTA is an Mac App that allows three-dimensional visualization of the nasal fossas, providing a detailed anatomical knowledge of the complex structures within them.
The visual capacity allows the user to have a new experience in the anatomical identification of the various elements in addition to interact with the model from different angles and to reference the structures with the three projections of CT, allowing a degree of comprehension never seen until now.
3D NASAL VISTA is a new and imaginative way to study the anatomy of an area as complex as the nasal cavity and adjacent structures with a high level of detail, this fact allows 3D NASAL VISTA to be a reference tool for any surgical intervention of the area allowing the understanding and visualization of structures to be modified.
Thus, 3D NASAL VISTA is a Mac App especially suited for ENT, maxillofacial surgeon, Plastic Surgeon, neurosurgeons, ophthalmologists and general all professionals whose area of clinical interest is in the nasal cavity and adjacent structures.
Available in English and Spanish
What's New in Version 1.0.2
- Updated credits
Allows the user to see a limited portion of the skull (the nasal cavity). What I liked was the ability to turn off various displays so you could drill down into the anatomical structures. Separate views for Bones, Cartilages, Muscles, Arteries and Viens and the Skin.
The interface could be improved upon. When the app is not in full screen mode you can not adjust the size of the screen and menu items at the bottom are cut off. It is nice that the application supports English and Spanish but I want to see one or the other on screens and not both.
Very curious what the full app includes that makes it worth $900
Google Body Browser Lite!
Similar to Google Body Browser in Google Chrome, except it's focused on the nasal area, the full version is a big $899.99!!!
Full screen will fill to the full aspect of your screen so depending on the shape of your screen, it may be stretched. (Press "escape" to get out of "Full Screen".)
3-D redraws smoothly, and rotates and pans with your mouse just like in the Google Chrome Browser. You can choose what structures to display or hide. What it does not do is display labels describing the various elements, so using the lite version as a learning tool is limited. There is also no animation or zoom. I do not know what features the full $899.99 application offers. As a non-medical person, $899.99 seems like a lot of money for such a limited part of the human body.
Other Anatomical apps are out there like Visible Body. On my machine, 3-D NasalVISTALite takes up 134.6 MB. I am not a doctor and I do not play one on TV.
