  Version 6.17:
  • Peek and Pop: The Top Stories list in the app's home screen is now enabled with Apple's Peek and Pop technology, which lets users 'peek' (or preview) app content, and press a little deeper to 'pop' into related features in the app. With Peek and Pop, you can quickly Save a story to your device or Share it with friends.
  
  • 3D Touch: The app's icon is now enabled with 3D Touch, an Apple technology that senses how deeply you press the display in iPhone 6S and later iPhone models. By 3D touching the app icon on your iPhone, you can go directly to the app's Top Stories, Weather and Search sections right from the home screen of your iPhone.
  
  • We moved Video from the bottom navigation bar to the top of the app's home screen, so you can browse Top Stories by text or video.

  - Search! We’re really excited to bring you this highly requested feature. Now you can search the app for stories and videos. Just tap the search icon on the tab bar.
  - We are excited to offer an ad-free experience for purchase within the app for $0.99/month. The subscription removes all in-app ads, including pre-roll video. Linked content loaded in a web-view is not included. The subscription will auto-renew monthly. Thanks for supporting local journalism!
  - Save stories. Just tap the "bookmark" icon on story screens to save a story to read for later. Find your saved stories in the "Sections" tab.

  We’ve been pouring through your emails and reviews and are thrilled to release these brand new features:
  
  - Swipe to next story. No need to keep going back to the home screen, just swipe left to read the next story, or swipe right to go back.
  
  - Stories marked read. When you’re on the home screen, stories you’ve already read will be marked by a greyed out headline, so you’ll always know which stories you’ve read and which ones you haven’t.
  
  - Simplified and refined card design. We heard a ton of feedback about how cards work. We got rid of mixed action cards. Now story cards simply open a story and video cards open a video. Breaking and top stories will continue to be highlighted in a large format, but the rest of the list will be smaller cards for quicker and more efficient browsing.
  
  We’ve got a ton more features in the pipeline thanks to feedback from users like you, so keep it coming and let us know how we can serve you better.
