Description

A simple journal for all of your important life events:

+What and when you eat
+Sleep times and insomnias
+Exercise habits
+Work accomplishments and stress
+Moods and joys of life

See detailed history of your life and optimize how your body works!

My Life and Performance is a tracker and a journal that helps you track your meals, exercise, work, moods and sleep to align your daily actions with the way your body works.

The app is simple – tap a button when you are about to eat, drink coffee, exercise or go to bed. This creates a life journal entry that you can edit later. By seeing how your actions unfold over the course of the day, you will be able to see what contributed to your performance and what did not. Over a week or two, you will see a pattern of how your body works (or doesn’t) at different times of the day.

Track and standardize when you eat, and your digestive system will reward you with better digestion, less heartburn and better nutrition, all while consuming the same number of calories!

By examining your food history, you will be able to take your diet under control by better understanding when you are snacking due to boredom or anxiety.

Having trouble with insomnia? Track your caffeine intake, bedtimes and wake up times to how your caffeine habits affect your sleep. Does that cup of coffee at 4PM keep you awake until the wee hours of the morning?

Tried smart alarm clocks, but still having trouble waking up? There is an optimal awakening time for every one of us. Track how groggy your feel at different awakening times and find the time that works best for you.

Do you want to optimize your sports performance? You can! Your body has hours of peak endurance, flexibility and muscle strength. By tracking and analyzing the duration of your workouts, you will be able to increase your workout results by finding optimal workout times.

Or maybe you are feeling lack of energy and fatigue? Show your daily pattern of activity to your doctor to help the doctor help you.

Do you have higher spiritual needs but just can’t quiet your mind enough to get into deep meditation? By tracking the times and depth of your meditative experiences, you may be able to find that optimal 15 minutes of silence when your brain can get quiet and clear.

Do you seek work life balance? Track your working hours and accomplishments to understand when you are most effective in the day. It is not a secret that 80% of your productivity takes place during 20% work time. Find out when and schedule all of your important meetings and difficult tasks to be accomplished during those hours.

Working when you are most ready to work will make tasks that are impossible at different times merely hard.

Or maybe you find yourself lacking energy to accomplish tasks at certain hours of the day? By seeing when such times occur over the course of the day, you will be able to better understand, and correct their causes. Know when you are not at your best and avoid scheduling or accepting meetings at those hours.

Are you commuting and hating traffic? Does sitting in a bumper to bumper traffic bring up all the frustrations of the day over and over? Keep track of your driving experiences to find the shortest and least stressful hours for commute.

You control your body, yet your moods may control you. Your body controls your moods.

By optimizing your body’s performance and keeping track of your moods, you may shift the balance of power and take better control of your daily life. Feeling great and knowing that you helped make it happen is awesome. Knowing why you feel sad, and knowing what you can do about that beats being just sad on any day of the week.
For a price of a small fries you can get a beautiful research-grade activity journal app that will help you increase your understanding of your body and mind. Is it worth it?

Nope

Check that app's website - after voting "I don't know how to use the app" I saw that over 60% of voters shared this experience. Kinda high, don't you think? More...

I very rarely buy an app before testing it. I made an exception for a low $.99 and the idea of what it would be from the description. I could not imagine some so anti-easy to use. I'm not a programming genius but I'm pretty tech savvy. Still... I'm unsure what icons mean and was unable to find enough explanations. In the examples items are different from my entry but I cannot find a way to edit them. Big promise, very very little delivered. I read the app's user manual and the app's website. I was attempting to add a sleep entry about last night but the information provided included facts about melatonin and circadian rhythms. This is information I'm already familiar with and it can be found for free online.

Just what I was looking for!

I really like this app. I was looking for something to record my daily habit hoping to see what triggers my sleep problems. The only improvement I would like would be the ability to record medications.

Lack luster app with little functionality

Simply put this is not a well designed app. It is difficult to use and all mood tracking has to be done manually. It includes a timeline of your tracking but no graphs or relational studies to to allow for quick interpretation of your input of information. I just wish I could get my $.99 back
