Makes it quick and easy to get a full overview of all weights, reps and sets based off your 1RM when you’re following the 5/3/1 program.

- Save your current 1 RM for each of the four exercises

- View calculated weights for each step in the cycle

- Round the weight to match the plates you have available

This app is made for people who are familiar with the structure of the 5/3/1 program and who needs simple access to the calculated weights for each exercise.

Simple, solid, useful.

The criticism I have to offer is that the app doesn't have a feature which generates which weight plates to use. I've used apps in the past that automatically displayed which weights you needed on the bar for each set like a 45, a 10, a 5, a 2.5 and a 1.25. Barbell math is easy enough but it's nice to just slap on what it tells you to during warmup sets. The only other thing I have is that the rest timer does not continue counting down if you leave the app, so if you check a Facebook notification during a 3 minute rest or leave the app to check that text you got during your last set, your rest timer is jacked. Fix those two things and the app would be nearly perfect.

10/10 would download again. lol.

Intrusive Ads

Used this for free without ads for several weeks. This week however, they added a pop up with video that disconnects my music, and even pops up in the middle of my notes when I’m writing them. I understand the need for ads, but having the same ad pop up, stopping music, each time I open or switch back to the app, and periodically once the app is open is intrusive and disrupts my workout. Looking for a new 5/3/1 app immediately. Prior to the ad issues, HD 0 complaints, but the ads are the equivalent of the gym guy that downs know to leave you alone in the middle of your workout.

Developer Response

I'm sorry you're seeing popups as I explicitly specify small banners only and avoid pop ups like the plague. I'm unable to make any pop ups appear on my test devices so please get in contact with me through the feedback e-mail to help me resolve this.

Auto play ads no longer a problem

Ads are auto playing every couple minutes ever since updating the app. It disrupts my music that plays on my phone. Minus 2 stars. All else, app functionality works perfectly fine

Edit: the pop up ads have become extremely disruptive. Makes the app unusable. Minus 5 stars if I could. PS it's the ad video popup with a dog with absolutely no content.

Right now, will have to resort to screenshotting the rep schemes

Edit: dog ad not popping up anymore. Thank you. P.s I did not receive any emails from App Store except that a developer responded to my review. Apologies for any inconvenience but thanks for reaching out.

Developer Response

I tried to reach out to you in an effort to get this resolved but you ignore my response. The app does not show popup ads. I've been in contact with Google Admob and there is no trace of any pop ups being served to users.
