Great program, buggy app
First of all let me say that this program is fantastic. I am starting week 8 and have had great success. I highly recommend it to any couch potato that wants to start living a healthier lifestyle. This program coupled with the website is fantastic.
Now, to review the app itself. Overall it works fine. The music integration is clunky, and for some reason, doesn't play music in the order of my playlist. Not a huge deal, and most certainly not a deal breaker.
There is a bug in the app when trying to view the route of a completed session. A lot of times the app will crash out. And if it doesn't crash out, you can't navigate to see the route. For example, I run at work, and if I try to view my route later that day when I am home, the map zooms to where I currently am, and I can't zoom out or pan to my recorded route. It keeps snapping back to my current location. This too is a minor thing.
The third (again, minor) thing is that on week 6 (two 12 minute runs) at the beginning of the second 12 minutes, he announces that we will jog for 12 minutes then have a 3 minute brisk walk. When in fact at the end of the 12 minutes, it's the 5 minute cool down and hit the showers.
Each item by itself is not a huge deal, but it's just buggy enough to, well, bug me. Again, 5 stars for the program and website, and 3 for the app.
Thanks so much for helping me get healthy and hopefully having many many more years of fun and life for my kids!
Crashes! Otherwise love it.
I absolutely love this app. It is the one thing I have utilized to get me running. Cues are great and not obnoxious. A similar app I tried used bells and dings to cue when to start and stop running. This app is far superior because he just tells you. When using the other app I would get confused about starting and stopping and wondering if I missed a cue.
However...it will not let me play music through it! I have to shrink it down and separately start my music. When I open the app and then press the music button within it, the app crashes. My initial app didn't do this, just since the last update. I have tried everything from restarting the app to deleting and reinstalling it. Nothing works. So, minor inconvenience but it loses that whole feature. No one else seems to have this problem? Googling doesn't find Ay solutions.
Good App, Great Program
The app is very serviceable and the program is excellent. Since completing the 5K101 program I have purchased the Half Marathon Combo training program as well. I wish the app included an in-app purchase for the 10K and Marathon programs; but Mr. Lange's responsiveness to my support issues and program questions has been fantastic! I've always hated distance running; always. After completing th 5K101 program and starting the 10K program I can say I am now enjoying running and am disappointed when my schedule interferres in a run!
